A Great Warming Snack

Today the frost painted itself across windshields on tree leaves and over the lawn. A sure way to warm up from the inside out on days like these is a nice warming breakfast or snack containing coconut butter.

This is one you can enjoy in many different ways. I like the simplicity of enjoying these morsels fresh.

4-5 medjool dates
2 Tbsp coconut butter

Remove pits from medjool dates and with butter knife, spread coconut butter into center of date. Enjoy.

Additions & Variations: Add the coconut butter and dates directly into the blender with your daily breakfast shake ingredients; Chop dates onto your lunch-time salad and drizzle or spread coconut butter over greens. For an added kick, add 1/4 teaspoon of maca powder (found at organic, natural and bulk food stores) to any of these including your salads and salad dressings.

The warming properties of coconut butter and maca contribute to raising body temperature (thermogenic) and the maca in particular working towards balancing hormones, providing stamina, boosting immunity and contributing to energy levels (adaptagen)... all factors contributing to a warmer core body temperature.

This is an ideal way to warm the body from the inside, while supporting the immune and endocrine systems, ensuring prolonged and sustainable energy, rather than the peaks and valleys and added pressure to the adrenals that some food choices can contribute to.

Enjoy experimenting with the beautiful tastes and textures of dates and coconut butter. Naturally! Even your skin will thank you!
